Biomonitoring: The collection and identification of Benthic Macro Invertebrates (BMI) from the streams of the Chippewa River Watershed is another viable tool for monitoring water quality

The BMI Biomonitoring Network is a collaboration between project staff, teachers and high school students. Biomonitoring is an inexpensive and highly educational tool for determining water quality.

Thanks to all the students and teachers that participated in the BMI Network during the 2003-04 school year. The 2003-04 Bethic Macro-Invertebrate Biomonitoring Network is complete. Click here to see the results.
